Your help is required immediately please, if you don't mind. I have a client that is on the plane from Denmark to come and see me but I need my screen running at its best because ever since I bought my Mac Mini, I've been keeping it on a shabby resolution.

My maximum resolution for the HDTV is 1680x1050. I just set on my Displays preference pane to that resolution. The picture is now superb but my Desktop starts like 2 or 3 inches in and then the other end of my Desktop runs off the screen where my HD icon should be.

I'm in need of your help ASAP. Thanks.

You should simply be able to go through the menus on the TV to change the position of the image, or you may need to change the refresh rate to something closer to what the screen is used to (50Hz, 60Hz, or 75Hz are normal).

If you still have problems, check out this page, which will explain how to use a utility called SwitchResX to get your Mac displaying properly on your HDTV.
