I've been going through the long process of converting all my media to .mp4. Now, I've started putting it into iTunes so I'm ready to rock when my Apple TV arrives.

I've spent ages getting descriptions and art work for each TV Show. My question is, if I back up my TV Shows onto my hard drive, and say if I got a new computer down the line and copied them back into iTunes would I still have all the correct details and art work?

Also, as a test I deleted a TV Show and pasted it back in to iTunes. All the details were there, except it declared itself as a movie, not a TV Show.

To make this question sound easier:

Is there any way to get the descriptions of my TV Shows saved? They are part of the iTunes database file, not the actual files themselves.

I believe using MetaX would solve this problem.

It should imbed all that information in the actual file as metadata, at least that's my understanding of it.

I gave that a try and that seems to have done just exactly what I wanted!

Thanks very much. It does take its time to do the process though unfortunately.
