NOTE: IM NOT SAYING THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THE UPCOMING IMACS AND MAC MINIS

Why do we think apple hasn't gotten a contract with happauge or something and do some thing revolutionary with tv tuners (im not sure what, but i think apple could really do something there).
They could easily give Front Row a facelift and use that for software for said tuners.
If they had an update like this, would an appletv DVR make sense and you could stream all recorded things throughout the house including your ipod/iphone.
I do realiz media center does this for windows buti think these upgrades could really help Apple.

I'd rather not be made to buy a TV licensee just because i have a computer thank you.

Every single PC comes with Vista and has Windows Media Center on it. Windows Media Center is just like Front Row except if the PC has a built in tuner WMC controls it and you can watch TV on it and WMC acts as a DVR. I have a big Sony All-In-One like this. A Sony Vaio LS30E.

This is the best part of Vista. I actually like this feature a lot. WMC automatically connects to a Windows server via online and pulls full TV-guide like info for you.

I for one wish Apple would include a TV tuner on their top of the line iMac. It makes sense. It is a All-in-one and would be a natural extension. The purpose of my VAIO is to replace a TV and DVR in my office. Some of us like that option.

I don't think it should be on the 20" iMac's, but for the big 3.06 ghz iMac I sure wish it had it. It would be easy for Apple to put a tuner in the iMac and develop Front Row to include it. The catch is if they want to.

I doubt it. As long as the Apple TV exists I doubt it. I for one sure like to watch TV or listen to it in the background as I work. To each his own.
