Hi,

I'm looking for a device and software that will allow me to play normal terrestrial TV on my Macbook Pro. Are there any recommendations?
Thanks,

Nigel

As for a similar question, I already have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 that I had been using with my PC. According to Hauppauge's website, this USB Tuner should also work with the Mac.

I've been looking and haven't found any other software beside EyeTV for the Mac in order to use with Tuners. I was wondering if there was any other software out there that I can use with this tuner.

I don't mind buying EyeTV. The problem is if I buy the software alone (at over $70), and I find out my existing USB tuner does not actually work, then I will need to fork over even more money for an Elgato Tuner with another copy of EyeTV!

Is there any other software I can at least use to test out my tuner. If it is too basic or not that polished, I won't mind purchasing the eyeTV 3 software - I just don't want to have to buy it twice!

Thanks for the input guys! ;)
I like the look of the Elgato EyeTV Diversity. Has anyone used this to record? How well does the recording feature work?
Thanks,

Nigel

I have a couple of EyeTVs, although not that particular device. Recording from Freeview works very well for me. Even better recorded programs on one Mac can be streamed across the network to another Mac with EyeTV running on it :)
