Does TVos14 support Apple TV HD as well?

I can't see it anywhere, only Apple TV 4K.

Thanks :)

I can’t imagine the HD not getting it. HD is still being sold.

I have 2 ATV HDs. And I have to admit that the A8 ATVs are kind of long in the teeth now. It can barely keep up with smooth Apple arcade Play.

I’ve have been a long member of “I don’t need a 4K ATV” club.

But it’s time these were relegated to a secondary TV in the house.

Oh I agree! This is an unpopular opinion, but I think they should’ve EOLed the HD when Arcade became a thing. Truth is the 4K barely keeps up with Arcade. But I also think they kept the 3rd Gen tv a bit too long.

definitely kept the 3rd gen for too long. I am thinking of getting a 4k now and a 6th ten if/when it comes out. one of the 2 HD models will go in the guest room and my son will get the other for his Apartment.

Probably because Apple wants a NEW $$ device and an older $ device and they couldn't EOL the HD when that would just leave the 4K without a newer model on sale.

We have an HD model on the basement TV, and the 4K (bought last month) on the new 4K tv. thankfully the kids just play simple non-Apple Arcade games.

My Mom is gonna get my 4K when I get the 6th Gen. I don’t know what we’ll do with her HD.

I agree. I get wanting to sustain the installed base (and hoping people didn't just bail from ATV devices all together if "forced" to upgrade), but Apple should also want the best experience. Word of mouth on Arcade from an HD/4th Gen owner is going to be mediocre at best. I'm __assuming__ when the 6th gen hits, this will finally happen, 5th gen gets a single model, reduced cost, HD goes away, 6th is finally a reasonable competent gaming device.

tvOS 14 is designed to run on the fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV models. It is not compatible with earlier versions of the Apple TV, as those models do not support tvOS.
