been using PS for many years but never had this happen...

i updated to CS3 long time ago but only re-hooked up my HP ScanJet 5400c scanner recently. Installed the most recent drivers etc. Software works fine. BUT no TWAIN in Photoshop. Double checked my plug-in folder settings and the folder itself (make sure its in there) all looks good but no TWAIN in the PS File/Import menu.

Sys: OS-X Tiger 2.66 Dual proc 4gig ram

Any ideas? Would like to be able to scan directly into PS, ya know?

Thank all! Really appreciate the help.

Lisa

I have CS3/Leopard and TWAIN doesn't show up as an option in my import menu. But my scanner is listed instead.

Does your scanner name/series not show up in the import menu?

I am still having same problem and i just updated to Leopard also. can't seem to find anyone who can respond to this. I posted this on the Adobe forum and the Photoshop forum. what's up with this?

my scanner doesn't show up and no answer on the HP website, either.

found the solution!

i was having this problem with my epson scanner, and found the following solution, hope it works for you too, even though i imagine you've worked around it by now, since this is an old thread.

Run Photoshop in Rosetta mode; Epson Scan 2.77A only runs in Rosetta mode.

Follow the steps below to run Photoshop in Rosetta mode:
quit photoshop.
Open the Hard Drive, select Applications > Adobe Photoshop, then select the Adobe Photoshop icon.

Hold down the -I keys to open the Get Info window.

Check the Open Using Rosetta option, then close the window.

Start Photoshop.

good luck to all.
