I have a broken ringer switch. I know I can set up something like assistive touch but looking for something more smoother. Is there a tweak out there that would perhaps mute my ringer when decreasing the volume all the way down, kind of like the way it works on old flip phones?

I want to be able to silent my ringer with a physical button...tell me this can be done please

If you mean silence the ringer when a call comes in, just press your powerbutton or the up or down volume buttons. Hard coded.

If you mean you just want to place your phone on silent mode, then assign an Activator action.

Yeah worded that wrong I know during a call it can silence the ringer, what I wanted was something like where if I just hold the volume down once it goes all the way down it'd trigger the silent mode. Not when a call is incoming just at ALL times. I couldn't figure things out in Activator was looking for a long hold action somewhere. I just downloaded CCsettings instead. Thanks for the suggestion though e

Activator works by starting with where you want the action to apply.

Anywhere, Lockscreen, Homescreen, or in app.

For this I'd use anywhere. Then in the list you find the action you want to use. Since the up and down buttons are hardcoded for volume, I might avoid using those, but if you want to you can.

Once you have one of those selected you assign the action. In this case it would be Silent mode. Select that and the action is assigned to the button and will apply anywhere.

I'm on iOS 6.1, so I can't use Control Center. But if CCSettings is working for you then great.

Can't you just turn the ringer volume all the way down?

Actually, no. It will only go down to one white bar. Like this. ^^

Yeah it doesn't work right using volume buttons as it interferes maybe if it had a long hold somehow it'd work. Then when using your normal volume you just use short presses or taps. CCsettings was a lot easier just went that route.

Yep, it sucks because in the past I believe it has muted not sure why it was removed

No idea why but it goes down to mute for me for iOS 7 (don't have any tweak that changes the behavior of my volume button)

I do remember in iOS 6, it would go down to one bar like that screenshot

I'm interested in a tweak also. On Android phones, when you hit the vol down button it gives you a bunch of vol levels, but then it goes to vibrate and then the last click down it goes to silent. On the iPhone, I'm new to iOS, when I click the vol down button all the way it just puts it on the lowest ringer, there is no vibrate or silent option after. I have use the silent switch on the side.

I'm going back a while now but i had a similar issue in that the mute switch broke on my old 3GS. I think i set it using Activator so that if i double pressed the volume down button it would put the phone into silent mode...its been a while so not 100% sure if thats right. Seemed to remember it worked fine for me.

Yes this can be done. This is how I do it:

You will need:
1) Activator
2) Ringer+ Flipswitch (http://moreinfo.thebigboss.org/moreinfo/depiction.php?file=flipswitchringerDp)

In Activator set:
Anywhere
"Up Short Hold" Ringer+ (Activate) - Green Switch
"Down Short Hold" "Ringer+ (Deactivate) - Red Switch

Now when you hold the volume down key the ringer will silent (using mute icon or similar in the status bar is nice for confirmation however the stock HUD will be displayed) and holding volume up will re-enable the ringer to the previous volume level you set prior to silent.

Hope this is what you are looking for and helps.
