Tweetie is now on the app store....

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=296415944&mt=8

It's a fantastic little app, nice and fast and smooth, and has search built in.

One thing though - I can't get the search to do a "nearby" search? Am I doing something wrong?

On Twitterfon (or the Twitter search website for that matter) to search near London I would type

near:London

and if I wanted to narrow it down then maybe

near:London within:15mi

They work fine on Twitterfon, Twitter and Twitterlator but they don't do anything at all on Tweetie?

I've tried putting UK, England and all that after the search but no luck :(

Yeah it is fantastic. The reason I posted here is I was asking if I was doing something wrong, is that ok?

Am i the only one who doesn't like twitter apps to load on the "last" tweet?

Reading on the dev's site he says he has a "Different Philsophy" and that he doesn't like apps that fake this situation... i can understand he the point but i like to flick through them anyway

For me... its a deal-breaker.... I only started using Twittelator Pro when the dev added the feature.... an app i think i'll be sticking with anyway but the idea of a clean and fast twitter app does appeal

Tweetie is definitely the best twitter client on the iPhone if you are looking for function over form (that's not to say it's not a nice looking client either). Bought it last night and love the fact that you can log into multiple accounts as well as save search queries. Not to mention that it's very fast.

I really like this twitter application. I suffered with the free ones for awhile and finally got sick of them. This does everything I want and is insanely fast to boot. Great job!

i am loving this app. Its sleek, and super fast. However.. I am wondering. Anyone take a picture with their iphone camera and try to post it within the app, the picture gets uploaded sideways. Meaning it would have to be rotated. Am i the onlyone thats seeing this?

anyone tried to take a picture, and see it turned sideways? I dunno if its a 2.2 flaw, or if its because of tweetie. I love this app though, completly.

i don't mean to be an @$$hole about this but how many twitter apps do we need on the app store. correct me if i'm wrong but don't they all generally do the same thing, show you other people's tweets and let you update your own tweets.

i tried 2 and they worked but were slow to update and scroll. bought tweetie yesterday and it works great. one of the best 3 buck apps out there, imo. besides, it's nice to have a choice. competition means better prices for you and me. :)

Interesting argument. I wonder what the world would be like with only one or two options for everything?

My view is that the more the merrier. On topic, my favorite right now is Twitterfon.

I agreed with the whole "how many twitter apps" do we need. But aslong as some of them bring something new to the table, i say why not. This is byfar my favorite, and i intend on useing it for awhile. It loads superfast, looks nice. perfect, really.

someone test that picture problem i talked about.. please?

How does Tweetie compare to Tweetsville? Tweetsville is currently my Twitter client of choice on the iPhone but it tends to be a bit laggy at times especially when opening if you have a busy Twitter stream, how does Tweetie perform in such situations?

Tweetie's performance is superb. It's really very fast at updating and the scrolling and that kinda thing are very smooth.

I owned Tweetsville just before this came out and this is better (IMO of course) and also saves your searches if you're into the whole searching Twitter thing
