Now that I think about it - I'm a tad nervous about this type of case blocking the airflow from the fan. Does anyone use a one-piece style case like this today? Thoughts on restricted air-flow?

From what I understand, part of the ventilation comes out of the keyboard as well as the back.

Plus, the air outflow is never that high on them regardless.

do you really think apple would offer it on their site if it was a problem with ventilation?

air flow comes thru the keyboard and out thru the hinge in front of the screen...you can encase the bottom and top in Lucite if you want and still have fine cooling...........I currently run carbon skins and never see the temp above 115 after 5 hours...

I ordered one a few minutes ago as I like the stealth factor when in public...getting ready to go on the road with an MBA for about 6 week so this will fit nicely - will post pics when I get it....

I'm sure it will be fine but ventilation is always a problem with MacBook Airs and something that you should keep in mind. Having said that, they improved the situation a lot with the latest gen but it still can be problematic

I like the outside looks very much. But I do not care for the stretch straps across the topside screen in the open mode. That looks like after thought.

You don't have to use it as a case that stays attached while in use. You can use the case as a zippered sleeve.

Good point re: Apple's endorsement.

The truth is I always go out of my way to make sure the space behind my henge is uncovered (ex: try not to use on soft materials that block it like a blanket) but I didn't look at my system temp to see how much it was affected.

I'm anxious to see your pics and confirm a lack of temp issues. One thing is for sure - it's a great concept.

I would totally buy this, but 80$? It seems to be because it's made with real leather.

Anyone knows if they will also sell at the (retail) Apple Store? I'd like to see one in person.

I have (well, my father has) a BookBook for iPad and I assume this one is similarly made. It is made out of leather; the feel is very solid, albeit a bit heavy for a case. It really does have a cool look, though. When I saw one of these in person I was like WTF why do you have such an old book (and then my friend opened it and took out his shiny MacBook Pro).

Yay! I have one for my 15" Pro and love it. I like the anonymity :)

Why does the 11" case cost the same as the 13"? Shouldn't it cost less (less leather/materials used)?

Oh well. I'll probably end up with one anyways lol.

This case is incredible. I have several cases and I love this so much more than I expected. I thought when I got it that I would usually use it as a sleeve and not bother with using it in the case with the straps on top. I find that I almost exclusively use it in the case. Among everything I found on this forum, it ranks toward the top. I am not sure how I would like it if I had a larger computer, I have an 11". Thanks OP!!!!!
