As a part time computer historian, I find it interesting that the Xeon 5150 and the IBM 5150 are separated by exactly 25 years.

Introduced in August 1981, the IBM 5150 was the first PC made.

And, the Xeon 5150 is in the new Mac Pro - exactly twenty five years later!

Do you think the powers at Intel and Apple are trying to mark an anniversary Mac style?

The 30th Anniversary of the first Apple Computer is this year, but Apple has chosen not to celebrate it.
IBM is no longer in the personal computer business.
Why would Apple celebrate--however obliquely--a dead competitor's product when it didn't celebrate its own?
