Personally, I prefer Echofon. The official Twitter app would be my choice if not for the "Echofon for Mac" application and its ability to sync unread tweets between my Mac and iPhone. I love not having to re-read the same "unread" tweets when going between devices. If Twitter were to ever work that unread tweet syncing function in with either their site or the Twitter for Mac app expected tomorrow (along with instant notifications for mentions), I would probably go back with their official app, but for now my choice is Echofon because of the unread tweet syncing between devices and instant notification of mentions.

Just my 2¢

Official Twitter App Takes the Cake, Tweetie 2 was amazing and twitter just made small improvements thankfully, Great UI

I've used Tweet-a-holic Tweetdeck and Twitbird none of them matched up

I tend to use twitterrific alot and also twitbird

The only reason I really use twitterrific is because i like when it chirps and also the icon of app. I also use twitbird alot because it shows me nearby tweets :)

The Official Twitter for iPhone app is VERY good, and what I use. It is full native support for most twitter features, and free push notifications. And it is FREEEE

However other heavy tweeters like to shell out the money for Weet, its basically a prettier, more functional Twitter for iPhone app.

Echofon, personally. Twitter's official app is good too. UberSocial is a cool, new, unique app.

I prefer how quickly you can access Twitter's features so I'm using that but oh how I miss the chirp. They NAILED that sound.

Which twitter app are you using?

Twitterrific is very fast. I think.
Sorry that was definitely unclear. I'm using the official Twitter app. You can swipe right on any tweet and get quick access to reply, repost, star, profile, attachment, and more options. If you've ever used Reeder it's similar and a very quick way to manage your tweets.

Get with the game guys :)

Check out the appstore reviews for TweetList - it autoexpands twitlonger tweets, has inline links, inline translate.

Handles twitter Lists better than any other app out there.

Did I also mention it's rock solid, smooth and fast?
Search for "tweetlist" on twitter and see all the reaction it's getting lately.

Oh, I'm a beta tester for quite a lot of twitter apps and TweetList is miles ahead. Tweetings would be my 2nd choice if you want even more features.

I currently use Echofon, but they were recently acquired and dev has stated a new update for the iPhone app is going to be released within the next few weeks. Depending on what happens there, I might switch to the Official Twitter app, Tweetlist, or Tweetings.

I really love the features and UI of Echofon, so hopefully the iPhone update that is coming up doesn't change the app dramatically.

So right now, I would recomment Echofon. But I also think Twitter, Tweetings, and Tweetlist are excellent apps as well.

+1 for TweetList. I don't even use lists, but the rest of the app is just do darn smooth. It's feature loaded and fast. It has replaced Twitter, Osfoora, Tweetings, etc that I have as my primary client (for now).

Use the official app BUT disable its notifications. Get the app named Boxcar and set it up to send you Twitter notifications instead.

Those 2 apps working together is my favorite setup.

Does any of those apps PUSH tweets by people you follow?

Do you mean every person or certain people?

Boxcar can push every tweet in your timeline if that's what you want, but not tweets from just a handful of people if that's what you want. (It can push ever @ mention that has your name in it, no matter who posted it, which is handy.)

The solution (if you want certain people) is to create a 2nd dummy account in Twitter. Use it to ONLY follow those super-important people. Then, in Boxcar, set up both your twitter accounts: The real one and the 'fake' one.

For that dummy account have it push EVERY tweet. For your main account, turn that feature off.

Then, in the Twitter app, you only need to sign into your 'real' account. You never need to log into the other one. Just let Boxcar use it.

The official Twitter app is my favourite. I would dearly love a sync between the iPhone, iPad and Mac versions, but for a free app I have very few complaints.
