so I've sent a tweet from the notification centre which worked fine, but I've had people tweet me and it hasn't shown up as a notification yet.

Under system preferences > notifications > twitter, I've specified banners, every other option is checked and under the options tab, I have specified that I want to be notified of mentions and direct messages.

Help?

It doesn't work for me either. I have the Twitter app from the app store on my Mac computer as well but I don't see any options in the preferences to allow me to get notifications in notification Center. I'm sure they're going to have to update the app before it allows this.

Indeed. Apps will need to update to support notification center. The Twitter app is a totally separate app that will need to be updated. I am not holding my breath though since the app hasn't been updated in many, many months.

So they've actually announced this great new feature that doesn't work? For anyone? Brilliant.

At the moment i'm just using a program called Hiss to allow Growl to roll up in Notification Centre, then any notifications coming from the Twitter app roll up where they should be.

But totally agree that all you can do at the moment is tweet and nothing is. Hopefully when they update to allow Facebook functionality they allow deeper integration.

Actually nothing works for me in notification center. I even tried Tweetbot alpha, and it doesn't show in the bar even though it's enabled. Mail worked once this morning, didn't do any popups or baloons, just shown 5 recent items in notification bar first time I opened it, but it stopped updating. I then clicked on (x) next to Mail name on notification bar and realized I can't find any way to add it back. So now I only have "Click To Tweet" and nothing else.

I seem to be the odd one out here...Twitter shows up in the notification centre for me. I use the web interface most of the time though, that may make a difference, although the app itself was updated yesterday.
