Currently I have my home Mac and a work MacBook Pro.

I'm in a situation now where I want to merge the two.
Basically I want to lose my work Apple ID and transfer all its contents (just documents really) onto my other Apple ID.

Therefore I have two machines still but they both have the same content on. I can then use this one Apple ID with iCloud etc..

Sorry if this is a stupid question or it can't be done!
I'm coming in blind here!

There is no way to merge two AppleIDs, but you can just stop using one and continue with the other. Just copy your documents off to a USB key then move the USB key to the other Mac and copy the files into your user /Documents folder. Then if you have not already, you can turn on iCloud Drive to sync them up to iCloud.

Just be aware that anything you purchased (video, music, books, apps) from Apple is forever tied to the AppleID used to purchase it. You may find you’ll never be free of your unwanted ID if it’s required to update software or play a certain video file you downloaded.... Just something to consider.
