I have had my MBP since November and I was relieved after I purchased it, that it did not have any of the problems that plagued the product line in recent years. No uneven brightness, no moo, etc etc. Well, that is, untill now...

I recently decided to head down to the apple store and get some of that iKlear stuff to clean my MBP screen. Mind you, I have never used this stuff before, I just knew apple endorsed the product so I figured what could go wrong? Now I am not blaming iKlear for anything, but I just find it to be a strange coincidence that after I used the product (the travel wipe variety) I now have a strange dark smudge about an inch in diameter, that seems to dissapear when you tilt the screen forward. I also now have two bright dots that appear when tilt the screen the other direction. Can anyone explain to me what might these things be? I am still under warranty, should I take it to the apple store? Thanks.

I too have a few white spots on my core duo mbp. They look like brighter spots than the rest of the screen and definitely weren't there when I purchased the machine. These spots disappear when the screen is black or I directly in front of the spot. Maybe at some point when I don't rely on my mbp I will sent it in to apple to get it fixed(I assume something like this would be covered under warranty).

Unfortunately its not covered under warranty. I was told yesterday that pressure added to the back of the lcd panel from something hard in my bag pressing against it caused the bruises (white dots). The dark smudge, which appeared immediately after I applied iKlear also seems to be permanent. the genius tried massaging it out to no avail. Im now stuck with a shotty looking lcd =(

I powered down my mbp about an hour ago, turned it back on, and now there is a rather odd looking squiggly black splotch near the bottom right corner of my screen. anyone know what this could be? and how much it might be to replace the screen?
