Hi
I come from a strictly Windows environment & am slightly confused with Apple's methods.
I used to have just an iPad (wifi only) & one Apple ID but now I also have an iPhone.
Should I use just the one ID for both devices or separate IDs?
Obviously I want to sync contacts & icloud keychain across both devices which implies just the one ID.
Is this the right way to go & what are the implications for using a single ID or separate ones?

Oh, OK, thanks.

IDs should go by person, not device. So if it’s the same person using both, use a single ID.
So, does that mean that each device has the same amount of allocated space on iCloud i.e 5Gb for iPad & 5Gb for iPhone?

It's 5GB shared by both/all of your devices.

If you need more space you'll have to pay for a larger iCloud storage plan.

In which case wouldn't it be preferable to have two different IDs?
The downside being that I wouldn't be able to sync.

OK, thanks. Yes it is a very reasonable cost for for an extra 45Gb plus the benefit of syncing.
I'll do that.
