Since upgrading to iOS 11 on my iPad, 2FA has worked quite a bit differently and now I don’t really see the point. Whenever I’m using my phone, the 2FA request just comes up on my phone instead of my iPad. The same is true for my iPad. What’s the point of 2FA if it just sends the code to the device I’m already using?

You’re accessing a site protected by 2FA, using a device that hasn’t accessed that before (and so there’s no cookie saying 2FA isn’t needed) so it wants to check its you.

From Safari, it can’t tell if this is your device or someone else’s so it sends your device the 2FA alert.

Ah okay I think I was misunderstanding the purpose/use of 2FA but I think I got it now. Thank you!
