Two finger swipes in Safari don't work

This is an issue I've had in Mavericks as well, and this also will not work when zooming in Maps.

Does anyone have any insight to this annoying problem? I'm wondering why Apple hasn't fixed this bug yet. This is a new version of Safari.

Just to add, scrolling vertically doesn't work either.

I had an issue with all trackpad swiping functions this morning. Restarted and its working again..
