I have just ordered an OWC multi mount to install one 3.5" hard drive and one 2.5" SSD into the 2nd optical drive bay of my 2010 2.8MHz quad.
However, since there's only one extra SATA/Power connector in the 5.25" bay area, how can I connect the third drive? Is there an additional SATA port on the motherboard? On my Mac Pro 1,1, there were two extra SATA ports.

The item description on the OWC web page says the kit includes everything needed to install two additional drives. But I don't see how.

You un-plug your DVD drive as it is unnecessarily SATA as well. You can split power with y-splits but SATA split is not happening.

Thanks guys! Weird that Apple didn't include any additional SATA ports on the 2010 model. I guess I'll have to disconnect the optical drive then and use a DVD drive through USB instead.

Sure. Better than running SATA cable back from PCI slot. But that's just me being lazy:)
