Both, my work MBP (2019) & my personal MBP (2015) gets stuck on shutdown, the 2019 sometimes shuts down after like ~3mins while the 2015 one gets a kernel panic error after ~3mins, restarts & then I can shut it down normally.

The Apple crash report (attached) says

panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff7f834ebaae): watchdog timeout: no checkins from watchdogd in 182 seconds (2068 totalcheckins since monitoring last enabled), shutdown in progress

But I have no clue what is `watchdogd`?

Something in the system is preventing the shutdown. Watchdog is a service that avoid the system being stalled, so if the shutdown takes to long, it just force the thing, so Watchdog is not actually the issue.

Any clue what to look for or where to start? because both machines are a bit different & they don't really share much…
