After updating to Catalina it looks like I've got two new folders on my root "Macintosh HD" directory.

The "Time Machine" folder has a few folders in it, but when you get to the "bottom" the last folder is empty.

"Nancy's Data Stash" is the name of a external hard drive that I recently formatted on my computer for the wife to use, and moved some data onto, and contains references to Carbon Copy Cloner within, but is similarly empty.

Trying do delete either throws up an error that they're required by macOS, but since both are empty, I dunno what's up.

Any thoughts?

I'll try switching off automatic backups when I get home and letting it sit for a bit to see if it automatically deletes. Still doesn't explain why they'd stick the snapshot there instead of somewhere a bit less visible.

Also doesn't explain that other folder, but I might just have to switch off System Integrity Protection and trash it that way.

This might be putting up a flare that it's finally time for a clean install--probably my first since 2005.
