As a developer it must be a bummer for you to see, on a relatively expensive app such as your ABContacts, as many single star reviews as there are five star reviews (40/41).

ABContacts started at 0.99$ back in late 2008 when it had only a few features.
And while there certainly are some users that simply don't like the app, many one star review are from people that doesn't read the instruction or think that the app does something even if it's not written anywhere.
A few also complained about the speed of the app when they tried to run complex query on 5000 contacts database (this is now almost a non-issue with the iPhone 3GS).
ABContacts is probably my most succesful app and it's paying my scarce design and graphics capabilities (where I'm now putting a lot of effort on new apps); it was the first app to let users group contacts on the phone and still is the most complete contact manager (to my knowledge).
Some of the features have been copied by other apps (the same happened to my Shopping List); at least I know they were good ideas...
