I have discovered (I think) two bugs with Panther 7B85, confirmations/workarounds would be great...

- Bug 1:
When you have a file called "MSWordinprogress.doc" on the desktop, there are two 'bits' below the text and the text raises about 5 pixels (when the icon is selected).

- Bug 2:
When the recently typed web-addresses list drops down in Safari, and you engage Expose, the list is treated as a seperate item (with no label).

I haven't attached the Expose bug screenshot for the sake of people on dial-up, but you can re-create it for yourself easily.

The drop down menu thing is cool... It is funny when you select the safari window and not the drop down window. Did you submit the bug? You are an ADC member right... Just checking ;-)

2 bugs?! i have more:

- if you open a program and then launch exposé the new window isn't affected by exposé but moused over text of the other window superposes the new program window (see screenshot).

- if you play a movie in the finder while it is in column view you can't drag the horizontal scrollbar. you have to use the widgets to scroll horizontally.

- if i say to require a password after wake up from sleep i can sometimes see my desktop for a second when i wake it up and then it switches to the blackscreen with the password prompt.
this is really acrappy implementation. instead of showing a black screensaver that is password protected they should put you directly to the loginscreen everytime you wake your computer up and you chose to ask for a password after wake up.

- sheet animations aren't the same in every application.

- the help viewer crashes if you do a search and then you try to change the width of the "theme" column.

negrito, just curious...why are you using suitcase? Does FontBook not work?

Personally, I can't wait to get rid of suitcase.

bugs eh? well i guess all you 'ADC' people are eaget to get Panther purring... but i'm just waiting till i get the full boxed version.

i'm looking forward to FontBook as well, can't wait to ditch Suitcase (i haven't even installed it yet, hoping to get by without it.)

and please say that FontBook 'works'! it has to be better than Suitcase!

suitcase does the job quite well even if preview is slow etc.

the problem is that fontbook moves (doesn't copy) all fonts into the folder 'fonts' of your user library or of the system library (depends for whom you want to install it). i hate that because i store my fonts on one place and not dispatched all over the system. of course this prevents you from auto activation plugins etc.

i have about 500 fonts and if they are all placed in the library it slows down my computer.

i didn't found a solution for this problem so i'm using suitcase.

Definitely submit that bug (and any others).
