Just updated my iphone to PB3 after running it on my iPP since launch. Very impressed with all the improvements Apple has made.

Two things i'm having issue with. When I tap the camera icon while I am composing an iMessage, it just takes me to the camera. I'd like to be able to send a photo but the library doesn't show.

Anyway to turn off the apps above an iMessage? I tap the app icon which hides it but as soon as i jump into another text it's right there again.

The camera button is supposed to open the actual camera. Use the photos app build into iMessage to send a message.

You can make it disappear by clicking the App Store icon next to the camera icon while the keyboard is minimised and it should disappear.

I just kept clicking the icon next to the message box to minimize the bar and now it seems to stay down unless I click the icon again. Seems kinda broken though.

As annoying as it is it's kinda needed now as they moved the way to send photos to that.

That is disappointing to hear. I really don’t like the app toolbar in iMessage.

You can get rid of the app drawer. You just need to tap on the App drawer icon while the keyboard is minimized. It will then be gone until you tap on the app drawer icon again.

Nice tip, thanks! Was wondering about this.

I think I saw an article a few days or week ago regarding the annoyance of sharing photos now requiring the app drawer, as opposed to how it's handled in iOS 11. Seems like Apple is using this mechanism as a way to perhaps indirectly spur iMessage app popularity?

Group contact phone in Messages keeps disappearing only to reappear after scrolling up and down.

Anyone else sees that?

Not sure, but it was a lot easier the old way. Now it takes several taps to do perform what for most people is the most common sharing function in iMessage.

Yes it sure is annoying and unnecessary extra steps. If you agree please provide feedback to Apple through the feedback app or website.

Oh right! Forgot this existed. :p

Gotta update my comment now.

Yes you can minimise it just like in iOS 11 but if you want to attach a photo you must open the app toolbar (or use another method such as drag & drop or share from app). The old method was much better in my opinion but it seems like they are pushing the app toolbar feature.

Please provide feedback to Apple through the feedback app or the Apple website.

Yeah, not a fan of the new process for sharing pics. Also don't like how I now have to tap 2-3 times to make that app bar disappear. Even then it still likes to pop up. Grr.
