Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of trying to transfer my e-mail from Opera 7.53 to Mail.app. I want to take advantage of Spotlight e-mail searching in the future, and since Opera has no plans to implement an OS-specific feature such as Spotlight, I figure I'll move everything to the one e-mail app I know will have Spotlight integrated
.
In the process of trying to move everything... I've come across two problems.
1) When I export Opera's e-mail data to a *.mbs file, Mail recognizes it for import but after it imports, it only displays one random e-mail from the whole package. I've tried this a number of times and I get the same problem. Is there a way to directly transfer e-mail from Opera, or do I have to try transferring to another program which Mail then natively imports?
2) On Opera I have an extensive set of filters to organize mail (and I'm hoping that this functionality can be replaced by the 'smart folders' Steve demonstrated). For now though, I'll be using the Rules feature of the current Mail to copy messages from the inbox to folders. However, it is likely that I will already have most of my past e-mail imported before I get to work on setting up my filters. So, my question is, can filters somehow be applied retroactively on mail that is already sitting in the inbox, not just on incoming messages?
Thanks for your help!
