Hello folks,
I recently bought an iPad and was wondering if there's a difference in quality in 1080p video if I were to buy it and download it on the iPad and use AirPlay to send it to the Apple TV instead of buying and streaming directly on ATV?
From what little I've seen there doesn't seem to be much of a difference but I want to make sure to hear from the videophiles here...
I don't like streaming and so I'd prefer to use the iPad as storage device and remote for the ATV, buy and download on it then use AirPlay to put the content on TV.
A second question I have is regarding the video quality on some of the content on the iTunes store. I've bought quite a bit of stuff and quality in general has been great but two movies were dreadful, The Hunger Games and Arbitrage, both had black levels so gray with so much dithering that I thought there was something wrong with my plasma. Is this more common that I think it is or were these two the exception? As far as file size they don't seem bigger than other iTunes movies so it can't be a compromise they had to make.
Thanks for any help, appreciate it.
