Two questions! regarding a new imac!

Can restoring the imac multiple times,hurt the computer.

second question, when i am using my imac it makes swooshing noises out of no where alot, just wondering what is making it make those noises. thanks.

restoring multiple times won't affect the performance of your machine. i've done it several times on all my computers, and they've performed just the same.

if you're hearing any noises, it's likely either the fan or the hard drive. or, it could also be the super drive, though it's hard to tell without actually having heard it.

no im not doing anything in particular. it is jut this noticeble swooshing noise. swoosh, swoosh.

I sometimes get weird sounds too

It could be any electrical interference, power source...any guess, no clue.

do you have your mail setup? When you send mail that's the sound letting you know it's sent.
