two real quick questions!

Im pretty sure you guys will be able to answer these quite swiftly.

1. Im running 3.1.2 on 3GS with fixed bootrom, i checked cydia and it says it has my shsh on file for 3.1.3?? i never installed 3.1.3, could this have to do with that 3.1.3 firmware spoofing app possibly?

2. Also, does the safari download plugin work with 3.1.2? i downloaded and installed it via cydia and cant seem to figure it out..

i did. even uninstalled it. cydia still says the same stuff

Cydia can only get the SHSHs files that are currently available.
Apple stopped releasing 3.1.2 shshs on Feb 2nd when the latest firmware came out so the only ones cydia could retrieve from apple if you JB recently is 3.1.3 and so on for future firmware releases.
I never updated to 3.1.3 also but cydia already has those 3.1.3 files for me for future referrence.
So its normal, thats how its supposed to work.

ok. only reason i ask is because i need to restore my phone cause its a lil messed up from me going app crazy. everytime i try to restore in itunes 9.0.3 with the 3.1.2 ipsw it says my phone isnt eligible in itunes.. i modified the host file and everything....not sure whats wrong

You cannot restore a 3GS to 3.1.2 without the 3.1.2 SHSH saved, which you just said you don't have.

There is another possibilty if your phone is currently jailbroken, has old bootrom (not a tethered jailbreak).

You can only restore to the firmware you have SHSHs saved for.
If you dont have 3.1.2 on file you wont be able to.

so even if im running 3.1.2 with jailbreak, there is no way to retrieve my shsh for my current firmware?

No.
Thats what we were explaining to you earlier.
You dont retreive the SHSH from your current firmware or phone. They are released from Apples servers.
And Apple stopped releasing them as soon as 3.1.3 came out on Feb 2nd.
So if you clicked make my life easier on Cydia any time after that you will not be able to have them saved on Sauriks server.
