Windows XP uses the antiquated registry system to store program information and libraries. So, I doubt you'll be able to have two versions of QT on the computer at the same time.

Are you running in bootcamp or virtualization? If virtualization, you could just make two virtual machines, with one being really small with QT 4 and the program that needs it.

I am running in bootcamp. The two VM's is a good idea but its running on a 60gb mini with 30gb dedicated to osx, there's not a lot of room left. I might be able to squeeze in a small XP VM if I really try.
