Hi, I'm trying to shoot some tennis racquets for sale. What type of lens would I need? I was thinking along the lines of a 50mm wide angle lens or something like that. What do you think?

I would think nearly any lens would work. It's probably more about lighting here to get decent results. In the past I've used a home made lightbox to take these photos. Most were shot on a D70 (back in the day) with a 35-70 f/2.8.

If you're in the market for a new lens for product photography, a wide aperture will give you nice DOF that always looks swank for sales.

If you are only looking to shoot pics of a tennis racket for sale, you could just use a P&S digital. You should think of some other use for an SLR lens besides taking a picture for a classified ad before buying one. You do realize just how expensive they are don't you?

But as was said before, any lens will do for this application.
