Are there often delays in generating these reports? I know they don't usually appear right at midnight for me. But I'm still not seeing one for yesterday and unsure if that really means I have zero sales or if it just takes a while sometimes.

iOS Typical delay in iTunes Connect Daily Reports

Delays in daily reports happens frequently enough. Normally they are generated in the wee small hours of the morning but sometimes they take longer. But even if your sales are zero, you should still get a report.
Depends what time zone you're in of course 
. My reports are usually in at around 11am UK time (around 3am PST).
But don't fret if you don't see any because sometimes it takes longer...
