I have searched everywhere for this bug, but I haven't found anything.

I often need to zoom in so I can see what I’m typing, however the cursor gets stuck in the middle of a letter and it messes me up.
It sometimes gets so bad that the cursor is either a whole space away from the place it’s supposed to be.
iPad 10th generation, iOS 18.3

Restarts don’t work.

It only happens when I’m zoomed in a bit.

I hope it’s not just me and Apple can hopefully fix it.

you are aware that you can place/move the cursor by placing your finger on the space bar and then move it? it seems that the placement of the cursor is slightly off depending on the magnification

- slightly decreasing it corrects the placement in my trials.

I suggest to use Apple’s Feedback app and report it.

Glad it isn’t just me.

Thank you

Just asked in the Apple Support Community and to hopefully get things sorted.

did you full reset and set up as new
the not exact placement in magnified views is a bug in the latest iPadOS. A new install will not help. But: the visual misplaced cursor is ”not stuck”. One can easily move and replace it elsewhere and as said previously, changing the magnification fixes the visual misplacement.
I checked with several iPads at my institute, yes, the cursor appears visually misplaced, but it is not stuck. The OP might have a different problem.

Yes, it’s a brand new iPad.

When iOS version?

I was on the phone with Apple support for 2 HOURS and they did nothing to solve the problem. It’s an iOS issue as it happens with multiple devices. (Except MacOS).
