Hi there,

I'd like to get the impressions of the new owners of the ipad on typing. I was thinking of using it to type the book i'm writing. I assume it supports microsoft office for Mac and I hope that the keyboard is just like a regular keyboard.

Looking forward to your replies.

It's freaking sweet, especially in landscape. I was never a fast typer but on here it's faster than I type on a keyboard.

I'm getting quite used to typing on the large keyboard in landscape mode and I'm pretty speedy on it now but still not as fast as on an actual keyboard. Overall though, you will get used to it and begin to type without really looking at the keys if you do a lot of typing.

I always liked the Apples way of adding the ' in words when you forget to type it. Even when I type NBC or CBS in lower case it automatically changes it to uppercase. I like that.

It's better than I expected but I wouldn't want to type a book on it.

Currently there are no plans for MS Office on the iPad, but pages does support the file formats, although not perfectly according to some.
