I’ve owned a 7+ for the past many years and finally upgraded to a fast SE2 and love its speed and smaller size.

I notice in swiping a bit more and it’s pretty fast. Previously on the 7+ I felt that I had to use both thumbs to type but am hoping I can become a swiping pro on this smaller form Factor.

I do miss 3D Touch but it’s not the end of the world. Wondering what the overall consensus is here regarding how to use the keyboard is.

I recall on my Samsung Galaxy S2 back in 2011 I actually really enjoyed swiping for typing. Think I started out with Touchpal keyboard and then swiftkey amongst many others!

Not sure what took me back to regular typing but maybe I’ll give it another go sometime.

Depends on the situation. If I only have one hand available then I swipe but if I have both hands I prefer to type with both. 12PM is much nicer to type w/ 2 hands

I use both. Swipe when using my phone one handed, type when two. I have an SE1 so I use it one handed a lot. But I still use it two handed if both hands are free and I’m doing a lot of interaction with the phone. But for just typing speed and ease it’s pretty comparable for me. Of course I also need to type when entering in uncommon names and passwords which swipe can’t really predict.

I used to use swipe when I had an android, but since I switched to iPhone (probably around 8 years ago) I get back used to only using typing. Since then I’ve gotten so much faster at typing that swiping is a lot slower for me (likely since I always use two hands to type)

I think I initially asked the question cause since I went to an iPhone SE 2 I feel that since the screen is smaller it’sa bit of a pain to type with both thumbs all am hoping I can exclusively use swipe on this iPhone.

i got so used to the seven plus screen all these years.

I enjoy the smaller form factor and the fact this phone easily slips into my pocket but sometimes I don’t even know if it’s in my pocket at all.
Who knows in a month I may gift this iPhone to my grandma and get myself an 11 or 12 Pro Max.

I had the same problem when I had the mini. Sometimes I’d turn to landscape just to type with 2 hands but that had its own challenges. It was part of my decision to get the 12PM.

Honestly, I forget about swipe the majority of the time. I do need to start using swipe more though.
Same. I always forget about swiping. I am not good at touch typing and I avoid it like the plague. This is why whenever I am near computer or iPad with keyboard, I just use them. I try to type the least as possible as it is slow for me.
