Uber map that shows the car is delayed/lagged?

When I use the uber app to call a car/taxi, the map that shows the car coming to get me is delayed. For instance, I usually get the notification that the car has arrived (and, in fact, the car has arrived) when the map in the uber app still shows that the car is about a block or two away.

Is that normal? On my old Android app the map in the uber app was pretty close to real time.

I often see that delay on my iPhone Uber app. I am surprised to hear that it is closer to real time on the Android app!

I find the delay to be about 90 seconds or less...
