So, I thought it was the iso that had the problem but it isn't. I've tried 4 times with different files to burn Ubuntu to a disk to install on my Macbook but it fails every time. Is there a trick to this?

I did this yesterday, and it worked fine. What kind of error messages are you getting?

After the disc verification, it says "disc failed to verify - burn failed" I tried using the disc to install still but it freezes up on me.

Have you tried a different brand or batch of media? I have one spindle of discs that will never verify. (I still use them for burning audio CDs as the occasional bit error matters much less on an audio CD.)

Also try burning at a slower speed.

I will give this a try later. I know what you mean because back in my Windows days, I had this problem with a certain brand.

That should be it. Have you tried actually using the CD? Maybe the verification is mistaken?

Yes, I tried. The screen pops up to select to install Ubuntu but once I hit enter, the install freezes. The disc did not burn properly.
