This preview isn't at an Alpha stage yet. Gonna wait until the devs on XDA have about a month with it and get it into a nice little zip file that can be flashed like any other ROM, and everything works. Right now, it is a pretty useless build. If you want to try Ubuntu, stick with the PC and don't risk bricking your phone or tablet for a simple "preview". That is just me though.

It's near impossible to completely brick. And of course I backed up. I just want to play with it even though it's mentioned data doesn't work yet.

Not a complete brick. I am more concerned with the modem and NFC chip getting fried. The benefits aren't worth the risk (for me), especially since I already use features similar to Ubuntu. I will be trying it, just gonna wait til it is in Beta form and most of the bugs are worked out and everything functions.

Same, this is the only up and coming OS right now that I feel I may actually give Android up for once it ripes a little bit and I've had a chance to play with a device running this OS. It does look amazing though, truly innovative. (Yes, innovative) looks like it will eventually be capable of even more than Android (unless google implement these features, and you can run Chrome OS on your desktop if you plug your phone into your computer, or something... that'd be amazing...)

I may wait until '14 though, when they come out with their own devices. Pretty sure that where 2013 is concerned, I'll go from my current Sony Xperia t --> Moto X Phone, which I hope to keep for a year, until the first Ubuntu devices start coming out, and it's had about a year to evolve from its current state.

Very excited.
