I'm about to d/l Ubuntu. Can you use it with bootcamp? Also which one do I get?

Ubuntu 7.04 - Supported to 2008

Ubuntu 6.06 LTS - Supported to 2009

-Thanks.

It'll work as a Live CD and installed on a separate partition. I believe there is a small work around to get the partition editor to work right so you can install it onto a Mac.

Use Google for specifics.

so if I d/l 7.x i wont be able to turn on my comp with the power button?

You will, but you won't be able to use Ubuntu unless you have a keyboard with wires on it (or of course the internal keyboard on a notebook computer). It doesn't affect very many people. But if your setup is like my iMac, which has just a Apple Wireless KB and Mouse, then you can't use Ubuntu on it.

I downloaded the CD and burnt it. But booting from the CD does not work. Do I need to do something besides hold down the C key while restarting?

Or hold option (alt) for a boot menu on your mac. I always use this way.

You can also just change your boot order in system preferences.
