I just bought a powerboook and love it. But I am a switcher from PC. My bf has just bought me a Creative Zen and has got lots of music ready to download on his pc. Is there any way I can use the Creative Zen with my beautiful Powerbook? I think I can't use itunes, but can I download music any other how and get it onto the Zen? Don't say get an ipod, because this is about solving a love problem.....

Click on the thing on this page that says Nomad Installer 1.01.

It's Creative beta software that I just happened to find there, and should allow you to use your Zen with iTunes.

Thank you for the link

This is a wonderful forum. I know I should go for the ipod....but seriously, you know guys, that would tactless and hurtful in this instance.

I've downloaded the Nomad installer beta or not and thank you Zach for the suggestion. When I get the Creative Zen I look forward to giving it a go.

I will NEVER go out with anyone who doesn't use a Mac. I'm actually being serious, now. :)

My wife uses a PC - has to, since her hobby is sewing and most sewing software runs only on PCs. I can't say that her choice of operating system was even on the radar when it came to dating or proposing. :D

Of course I'm old enough that Windows wasn't even around at that point - and those new-fangled Macs seemed pretty sucky. :p I remember my friend having to scroll continuously when editing a document since the screen could only display 6" of the text, which wasn't such a good deal with a page that needed 7" to 7.5".

Now that is a creative solution for your particular problem...

Would he be that upset if you asked him to change it for the girlie pink iPod mini? Or is it that he's hoping to 'borrow' the music player regularly?

You could, if 'Nomad' doesn't work, use applescript. I found one on dougscripts.com. I use it to copy mp3's over onto my 256 Mb SD card (i use it with a Palm Zire71). No playlists, just the files you wanted, all in one place.

I immagine this would be quite annoying with anything above 2 Gb, for me it suits me fine. I upload a random smart playlist every other day/week to the card. Enough tracks to accompany me on my trips with public transport.

Nice present you got there!
You could always go exchange it (and some extra cash )for an iPod mini and a shuffle. Give him the shuffle, maybe you win him over to the dark side! ;)

I wouldn't mind :D
