Apple just shipped me an almost empty box. Only contents inside were a packing slip and one of those air bubble things. Box was to contain Applecare.

Is this customary? Did my packing slip really require a protective air bubble?

I've gotten Applecare in a little red box before, and I've gotten it with no paperwork, it was just installed. This seems ... curious.

I hope tomorrow my MBP is actually in the box!

umm, weird, i do know what the last time i ordered a computer online (not a mac) they shipped me the product service thingy seperatly but it actaully contained a folder with the info...this is odd

if you ordered applecare via the net, you will get an empty box/envelope. after about 7 days, apple will auto-enroll you in the applecare program and mail you another envelope (large, yellow one) that has some instructions and an install CD.

so apparently yes the packing slip did need a protective air bubble

Classic, a twenty photo slide show unpacking the piece of paper from the bubble wrap and a video to go along with that too. :)

And you have to save the bubble wrap since its from Apple. Hey, how much do you want for it? :p

Then he needs to drop the piece of paper, accidentally step on it, and then bring it back to the Apple store, shoe print and all, requesting a replacement because "it just stopped working." :D

I won't believe it till I see it taking place in an elevator with bad lighting and poor video quality.

You guys are just too easily swayed.

What is the context of the "seeing it in an elevator"? I have seen this come up in numerous threads, but I do not know the origin of this joke. C'mon dudes, let me in on the secret.... :) I am a card carrying member of the SJob's RDF Red Carpet Club (SJRRCC). :D
