For those who have access to the latest beta, do you see any major improvement in interface performance? I'm talking about super slow, choppy animations when switching spaces, dragging Safari tabs, Mission Control, etc.

I have decided to downgrade back to Mavericks and just stick with that - because it works perfectly - until 10.11 comes out or just stop upgrading to new versions of OS X altogether - they always screw something up. But if there's hope that these issues will be fixed soon, I will wait until the next update and decide then.

You seem to assume that everyone is having the same problems you are.

Yosemite is working fine for me, better than Mavericks. I haven't encountered the issues you mentioned, so I won't be downgrading with you.

Good luck with 10.11.

I've seen other people report that Yosemite was as fast as Mavericks but when I asked them about resizing performance on Finder windows (list and column view) they would reply "oh it seems less fluid indeed. Haven't noticed that".

For me Yosemite, although not exactly slow, its significantly slower than Mavericks for window resizing and scrolling (in the Finder, mainly, but other system apps as well). Mission control seems ok though.
