Hi all,

So I've been using Apple Pay for a few days now using my HSBC debit card; it's awesome and very simple to use however recently every time I use it I then have to countersign a receipt! Which is so less intuitive and possibly more time consuming..

Is anyone else getting this? Is this a HSBC 'issue' or the NFC terminal that's being used?

It's just very frustrating.

Ehh! What is the point of that? Since you don't have your actual debit card on ( so they can't compare signature ) you surely you could sign anything, Mickey Mouse?

Which retailer is making you countersign?

Co-op, SPAR and a couple of Greene King pubs. I did however go to my friends cocktail bar last night and used Apple Pay with no need to sign a receipt!

I've used my HSBC debit card for Apple Pay with my watch a couple of times and had no issues like this.

How weird..

I use HSBC with Apple Pay every day, credit and debit and had no issues.

I guess this is down to the merchant then..
