It's sold by Amazon warehouse. So, it is returned merchandise. (open box)

Still, it's sold and shipped by Amazon. So, it should be legit and safe to buy.

(They said shipping and taxes etc done cheaper)

Apple isn't likely to match that. Amazon Warehouse is a separate entity from Amazon in some respects, and technically not an authorized Apple dealer, I believe. If I recall, Apple has still honored the warranty anyway in the past. But the US website does say

"Do products sold on Amazon Warehouse come with a manufacturer’s warranty?
No. Used products generally do not come with a manufacturer's warranty but all of our items are backed by Amazon’s standard 30-day return policy, and a 90-day return policy for Renewed items."

They're described as Used - Like New, which means "An item in perfect working condition. Original protective wrapping may be missing. The original packaging may have minor damage, or item may come repackaged. Package damage is clearly defined for each item. All accessories are present." I got one from Amazon before you even replied.

Just thought there would be a catch with it being so much cheaper.

Loads back in stock now, bargain really.

They're not used/returned/refurbed. They're sealed and new. Amazon will buy multiple standard configs of Apple devices like this and then sell them at a discount when needed. It's like a car dealer buying several standard models in the most popular spec and colours where customers can walk in and drive out there and then and not have to wait 6 weeks or so for their custom order. It's the same here, if you want to heavily customise a MBP then it's not for you. They'll have 512GB or 1B Storage and no options for RAM changes as this is the way they buy them. You'll also note when buying they offer full, standard Apple Care + as well so it's all legit.

I have a 14in MBP due from them today. I bought the Airpods Max last week from them at a once discount and they were sealed and new and I got the same offer of 6 months Apple Music free when I paired them with my iPhone, the same offer Apple gives you when buying from them.

I bought my iPad Pro 2 years ago from Amazon UK, same deal, brand new, the same as you'd get from the Apple Store etc. Amazon Germany has the same good deals as well on their site.

In the US, there doesn't seem to be discounts for now as demand is obviously very high there.

I cannot see that wording when I open the link.

Had I read that I may have understood the price difference.

Hence why this thread was started, I saw no reason for the lower price.

Not complaining like, it has arrived and its a lovely machine for the price.

Here's what I see when I open your original link from Amazon. Used in this case likely means someone returned it within the one month return window. So, used but barely used. Maybe it was never even turned on. As I think Amazon jumbles all functional returns together like this. That is the more valuable stuff and not all the returns which just end up in a landfill.

Interesting, I wonder if Amazon gives different results for links regularly depending on region it is being clicked from? If they are, that's quite asinine. Given people on forums use links for purchase advice to users in different countries.

I see the same as you. Doesn’t even say Amazon warehouse for me. So it appears to be new.

I’ve seen this before. I bought a 17”
Alienware from them that was maybe £250 cheaper than anywhere else.
