Hi there. I would like to know if it is possible buy UK applecare for factory unlocked iphone 3GS purchased in australia or italy just in case something goes wrong. Or should i buy applecare in the region where the iphone 3GS is sold? If that is the case, is the warranty valid in UK apple store should i need to bring the phone in for repair? I need to know this before buying an iphone from other countries... can anyone help?

AppleCare is worldwide. For example, I live in Australia, and bought my MBP and it's AppleCare here. If I happened to go to the US and my MBP develops a flaw, I can take it to an Apple Store there and they'll honour my warranty. It doesn't really matter where it's purchased from, IMO, just as long as it's legit.

I recently had my iPhone 3G replaced at the Bullring Apple Store and there were signs up at the Genius Bar stating that they only cover iPhones purchased in the UK through the official channels.
