The new UK folding plug is excellent, but I want to keep it for travelling.

Is there anything special about this plug? Can I charge my watch using one of the old iPhone/iPad USB plugs I've accumulated over the last few years?

Cheers,

Steve.

I do love the new Apple charger but mine is safe in the box packed away. It actually quite a good for travelling as UK plugs are always awkward with their unfoldable three prongs! What I don't like is that it's just a 5w plug.

I bought this, however, on launch day from the Apple Store. http://www.apple.com/s/aR5m2V5y3v
So I now have my iPhone and Apple Watch charging on the one socket now. Plus each USB delivers 12wfor quick charging my iPhone 6 and iPad if necessary. It was only £20 too, cheaper than Apple's new foldable charger!

They also have a four port version but for us UK folk, the four port version might cover the other plug socket if you put it in a double. Which is silly.

I love the plug too. When I first took it out the box I was so impressed with the way it popped open. Nice compact size.

Think the plug is the same as any other apple plug, just the design has been modified to make it more compact.
