UK Getting iPhone 15th of December

An online retailer has the iPhone available to pre-order now, with a release date of 15th December 2007. They also have stated that it is coming to Vodafone & O2, I was a little sceptical at first, bust after speaking to them, they have confirmed this.

Surely that is too close to christmas, only 10 days. I would reckon it would more likely be November 15, or October 15th.
