Just wondering if anyone in the UK has had any luck with getting hold of a custom spec MBP M1 in the UK? I thought I saw a collection option earlier for a 16b/1tb model I had in my basket, but then it disappeared and only gave me mid-Dec for delivery. Wondering if they are getting limited stock of these for stores or if it was an error.

Yes - 16GB/1TB models are available for pickup but obviously there isn’t as much stock as the standard models.

I picked up a MBA 16GB/1TB and decided I wanted a Pro just for a the bit more it gives and it was a week and a hald before 16GB/1TB was available.

I believe you want to check just after midnight as that seems to be when the stock updates.

how do you check the stores do you already have to make an order or is there another option?

If you want a 16GB RAM M1 MacBook Air or Pro from a Apple Store then they are only available with 1TB SSD, I have never seen any to date with a different storage capacity. If you follow @JD2015 example and Click the check store it will allow you to enter a postcode and search availability at a store close to you. I live in Bristol and when I did a search, there is a 16GB / 1TB 13" M1 MacBook Pro available in Exeter.

Do you know if this is just week days? No luck today with London stores it seems. Unless I was just slow off the mark!

ideally I wanted a 16gb MBA but went with the 8gb until the new m2 or m1x/z appears next year, where ill prob get 16gb. I have checked frequently on Apple and they never have any 16gb in stock around me. I live In Barnsley area so have a few Apple places around me, its annoying tbh but not the end of the world. 8gb is working well for me.

hope you find one.

I got mine on this past Friday. Just ordered and picked up a pro 16 gb 1tb from Reading. It was around 9:30 am and it popped up as available in store. Also could have gone to Covent Garden or white city and picked up the same unit. Keep trying in the morning.

You must have been lucky... I've been checking for the past few days but with no luck. I should have nabbed it when it popped up on Friday.

Just another line of thought - what do we think the possibility of Apple Stores having more stock once they reopen after the current lockdown gets lifted tomorrow?

@olisones , it is possible as that Apple restricted stock going to the UK stores due to the lockdown, now Stores will be open for walk in purchases there may be more stock, although its clear from lead times that at the moment demand > supply.

Just an update - it seems Saturday is the day for stores to have 16gb/1tb machines in stock for collection - locally, Covent Garden, Regent Street and a couple of others had stock for pick up this morning. Managed to nab one from Stratford City and am now setting it up. Such a great machine so far.
