Does anyone know where I can get insurance for the iPad, and how much it would cost? I did a quick Google but the "iPad insurance" sites that came up look like quickly knocked-up scams.

Thanks in advance :)

I'm in the same boat, the only website I've found is a site called Protect My Bubble £7.99 a month I think it is.

Let me know if you find any others :)

Well that's the best one I've seen so far!

You can insure mobile computing devices on your household insurance.

Best bet would be to add to home contents insurance... Likely worldwide cover for a small premium. Most will be accidental damage too if that is on the rest of your contents.

I have £4k worldwide with up to £1500 w/out having to specify items costs about £30 per year from memory but this will vary.

Good luck

Tom

Inluding theft/damage/etc outside the house? Will they charge extra for that?

GoCompare tells me I can do £400+ gadgets at £5.49 a month.

All household contents insurance companies will cover a mobile computing device for a small premium. And yes it does cover outside use.

I'll check that out, I assume it'll work out cheaper than a seperate policy, thanks :)

No problems, remember to check the value covered and the excess. Most will offer a no excess add-on to your current policy, difference will be an extra quid or so a month vs an excess policy.

Try Fujitsu Insurance. They seem to have a reasonable premium with no excess.

You can probably get it through your bank. Double check what their insurance deals are. I have 3GS phone and iPad gadget insurance through Natwest.

Thanks for this, I think I'm going to go with them, one thing though, it doesn't say anywhere on their site what they actually cover though...

Nevermind, I found it, just set up insurance with them, they pretty much cover you for everything except mechanical faults (doesn't matter as apple do cover this under the 1 year warranty) and it was just £39 for a year, that works out at about £3.25 a month :D
