We have a birthday-gift iPad that is scheduled to ship to London on June 7th and we are wondering when it should arrive.

Are these shipping from China on the 7th? From within the UK?

We don't want to disappoint by missing the birthday.

Hard to say. is it wifi only or 3G? If its coming from China then you could be looking at 4-7 days depending on where the weekend & flight schedules fall.

OK well like I said its impossible to predict, but if it is coming from China (like many wifis seem to be for initial UK launch) then it could fly from there as early as Tuesday 8th, and you might get it on the Wednesday or Thursday, maybe the Friday, hopefully no later than that.

But we dont know if Apple will be stockpiling them in the UK or Europe by then.

Sorry I couldnt be more precise, but as many people who are getting the first batch still arent sure exactly when they will get theirs or where they are coming from, there is a lot of guesswork involved.

I pre ordered a 32 GB wifi + 3g ipad and the shipping date is june 7! i really hope it reaches before the end of that week (june 11).
i have a feeling that apple will have stock in Europe or UK and will ship on June 7. at least it will be faster than the ipad coming from China.
anyways lets hope we get it soon!

It shows how critical the supply and demand is right now for iPads. I'd imagine normally products come in a shipping container, not via air freight. Apple must be taking a hit to fly them everywhere.

My stuff has always come from china via air freight. Shipping containers would take way too long, maybe for stocking UK warehouses/distributors of iPods and smaller items but bigger items usually originate from china and are air freighted.
