So I have attempted this payment twice on my side, and it has been declined both times, I have been advised that there is an issue with regards to the payment threshold that the bank allows through apple pay payment, what we have been advised is that you will need to call into one of our service agents directly on 0800 048 0408 and change the payment method, Not to worry this still will not change the estimated delivery date of the 3rd November for you. And you will always be able to track the order through the Order Status Page and will get order confirmation to
 
Guys last year ordering my iPhone 7 plus my apple pay payment got declined and my order status changed to “awaiting payment” I was the allowed to switch payment to a regular card and my order date was not affected. Probably the same will happen this time round with all the declined apple pay attempts.
 
Just got this from CPW so this will make my mate happy (who has to wait 2 to 3 weeks for their order)

So to be clear........ for everyone with Apple Pay declines.....

No one has yet actually had their order cancelled
Mixed responses from Apple who likely don’t really know
Some people already getting emails re Payment failure/request to update (when did people receive these emails??)
Hopefully when site back up later can retry payment having had card unblocked by bank, with no change to delivery date

I agree and I think the response Apple is giving to customers calling for information/clarification is very poor, considering there's a process in place for declines.
 
I managed to bag one - 256gb black - ship date 13 Nov to 20 Nov
then 5 mins later mrs wanted one, got 64gb white ship date 24 Nov

Not happy I didn't get launch day delivery date - I was hitting refresh from 8.01, site came up at 8.04 for me.
 
We send out all pre-orders on a first-come, first-served basis. So rest assured, we’ll get your order on its way to you as soon as we can

no VF, thats not what you said on the phone. Better be just a boilerplate response..

Can't trust them.
 
Thats why i avoided using Apple Pay. The banks and Apple just never seem to be in sync for costly items. My 2-3 week wait in a pain in the ass. I will try and get one from my Apple store next week if the shipping time doesn't improve.
 
Ordered at 8.04 via the mobile site and Apple Pay (app didn’t work for me until 8.20!). Got confirmation of 3rd Nov delivery, with an email and an order number. The order doesn’t show on my account history and the site doesn’t find it when I search? Is this normal? Should I stop panicking? :p
 
That.. wasn't too bad :)

I managed to get into the Apple Store app at around 08:03-08:04 and after trying Apple Pay unsuccessfully, I switched to my normal debit card, which is saved on my phone's keychain - worked straight away.

I had an confirmation email in my inbox for 08:05 (I'll ask live chat for the exact seconds when I'm less busy at work :D) but my current status is in signature below. The email said estimated delivery of 03 November.

I think it might be worth everyone have some details (confirmation email times, specifications, not order numbers :eek:) in their signature, so we have an idea about what to expect when people say their order status has moved. Thoughts?

Apple upgrade programme.

Wasn’t able to get the X for launch sadly. Says my preorder will be due in store on December 2nd.

Gutted.

Even worse is that my wife managed to secure one at launch - cow!!!

This was the email I got stating my payment (Apple Pay) had failed.

You can see the exact seconds yourself by opening the email headers. In Mail on a Mac that's View > Message > View Headers.

got the same from VF and CPW. Will keep both open just in case - both offer easy returns to a local store so no issues there. Might need to transfer some money from my savings account just in case all three clear at the same time..!
 
Just spoke with my bank just in case... Halifax confirmed that Apple made a transaction when I placed my order of £1 and then reversed the charge shortly after. No blocks on my card. They are likely to take the full amount when it’s ready to ship I would assume.

Yes stop panicking mine has now appeared on the apple website so as long as you have the email with a confirmed delivery date relax!
