I just spoke Apple chat about why my order is not showing as part of my Apple ID.

I was told that if you buy online, and then use iPhone for Apple Pay Touch ID confirmation, it automatically places the order as a guest order, which is what happened to mine. He said there would be an option later on apple.com/orderstatus to link the order to my account if I want to. Most importantly he confirmed the order is looking perfect and authorised and will be delivered on 3/11, so that's great!

That.. wasn't too bad :)

I managed to get into the Apple Store app at around 08:03-08:04 and after trying Apple Pay unsuccessfully, I switched to my normal debit card, which is saved on my phone's keychain - worked straight away.

I had an confirmation email in my inbox for 08:05 (I'll ask live chat for the exact seconds when I'm less busy at work :D) but my current status is in signature below. The email said estimated delivery of 03 November.

I think it might be worth everyone have some details (confirmation email times, specifications, not order numbers ) in their signature, so we have an idea about what to expect when people say their order status has moved. Thoughts?

I'm In, everyone follow the lead and stick it in our signatures instead of showing off our Apple Product collections ;)

Thought so... Now I feel bad for those who called and got told this wasn't possible and had their orders cancelled by the phone staff :(
Yeh that's some pretty rubbish customer service if you were told to cancel your order, if you had of just waited people would still be ok.

Just spoke with my bank just in case... Halifax confirmed that Apple made a transaction when I placed my order of £1 and then reversed the charge shortly after. No blocks on my card. They are likely to take the full amount when it’s ready to ship I would assume.

Same but I wish they took full amount, don’t wanna accidnelty spend it and not have enough haha

My original order just changed to cancelled :(

That said, I ordered a sim free X from Carphone Warehouse and seems to say I'll have November 3rd delivery. I'll believe it when I see it!!

I’ve only had one email that says they’re processing my order. Does this mean that the payment has gone through. I ordered it at 8:11.

Apparently Starling Bank have a £500 limit on Apple Pay transactions. It was authorised at 08:04 only to decline at 08:16

order moved to processing :)

You can see the exact seconds yourself by opening the email headers. In Mail on a Mac that's View > Message > View Headers.

Good tip - sadly I can only use outlook on a web browser at the moment (because at work) will try that later.

anyone order via very.co.uk or virgin mobile?

qouted 20th nov for very.co.uk and 2nd December for virgin (ordered 8:15 roughly)

Carphone already taken my money.. which is either good because they have stock, or bad because they won't deliver on time and I'll be chasing until the cows come home to get a refund..

Ordered 2 using my BA Amex at 8:01 this morning (confirmation at 8:02) with no issues at all. Rang Amex and all confirmed on their side so should be good to go to pick up next Friday! Happy days!

I too had a declined Apple Pay transaction, called First Direct and got it unblocked and was just able to re-authorise the payment again on the order status page.

glad EE use DPD thats all I can say

Glad i did call as the there had been an error with the order and so they would have contacted me later about it !

spoke to a nice guy guess i sounded glum as it was 9.45am and the order was only being processed he did promise that i would definately get the phone for next friday 100% and did waive the upfront cost and just got confirmation for it. will see
whether i get it and he seemed to hint that EE had quite abit of stock left to sell for next friday.

got it fixed in end. So yes easy to fix apple pay decline problem, view order status and update payment method. Order now in progress :D

Well I got an email at 8:49 asking me to call them to complete the order. So that took 20 mins.

I was quite luckily as managed to get through to them at 08.00am after ordering online. That sucks it took you so long. Must of been a lot of people ringing up
